Description

Rocket RE A 2 Group Commercial Coffee Machines

The Rocket Espresso RE A sits in the middle of Rocket Espresso's commercial range, above the compact Boxer and below the multi boiler R 9. Rocket Espresso describes the RE A as a thermo siphon heat exchanger machine, and that single decision shapes everything else about it. Water for the group is drawn through the heat exchanger by convection rather than by a separate brew boiler, so the machine holds a working temperature and recovers it without a screen, a menu or a firmware update. Thermal control is by pressure transducer, which is digitally adjustable, so the operator sets the boiler pressure and the machine holds it.

What Ships With The Machine

The machine itself arrives as a two group RE A with automatic portion control on both groups, two cool touch steam wands, a standard shot timer and Rocket Espresso's user documentation. Rocket Espresso packs filter handles and metal baskets with its commercial machines, and its Boxer series manual lists one cup and two cup handles plus a blind filter for backflushing on the two group version. We confirm the exact packing list for your RE A, along with panel finish and standard or tall cup height, before the machine leaves us rather than asking you to assume it. Water filtration, grinder, tamper and cleaning supply are not included with any commercial machine and are quoted alongside it.

Figures below are Rocket Espresso's own, taken from the RE A Timer column of the 2023 Rocket Espresso Commercial Range brochure. Confirm the final configuration with us at order, since Rocket Espresso offers panel and cup height options.

What Actually Matters On This Machine

A 14.5 litre copper boiler on a two group footprint. Boiler volume is steam capacity, and steam capacity is what decides whether the third and fourth jug of a rush comes out like the first. Rocket Espresso has fitted the 2 group RE A with 14.5 litres of copper boiler and 4.3 kW of element behind it. Copper is the traditional commercial boiler material and it transfers heat quickly, which is part of why this machine recovers the way it does.

Your Complete Two Group Setup

A two group machine is one line on a venue quote. Here is what we would put next to it. Two grinders from our commercial grinder range, one on house blend and a second for decaf or single origin, because a single grinder becomes the bottleneck long before the machine does. An under bench filtration system sized to your water and your volume. A knock chute or bench box. A commercial cleaning supply on recurring order, from cleaning chemicals, covering group detergent and a dedicated brush. Precision baskets and a fitted tamper if you are chasing extraction consistency across a rotating team. Tell us the venue type and daily cup count and we will build the quote around the RE A rather than sending you a list.

What We Think Of The RE A

The RE A is the Rocket Espresso you buy when you want the build and the Milan provenance without paying for control you will never use. Rocket Espresso's commercial line runs from the Boxer at the compact end, through the RE A, up to the multi boiler R 9 and the pressure profiling R 9V. Each of those is the right answer to a different question.
