The gear we make because the bench never stops

Coffee Parts Australia house-brand barista tools and group seals, supplied since 1999

TL;DR: Coffee Parts is the house brand of coffeeparts.com.au, covering silicone group head gaskets, the CP Precision Dosing Cup, tampers, knocking tubes and barista cleaning tools made for daily use.

Coffee Parts Australia started in 1999 because my dad could not find seals for a Faema E61. The house-brand range on this page grew out of that habit: if a tool or seal we needed did not exist at a fair standard, we made it. Silicone group gaskets, a 58mm dosing cup, tamping mats, knocking tubes, brushes. Function first, packaging last. Below, what each piece does and which one fits your bench.

What a house brand learns from supplying technicians

We know what wears out because we sell the replacement. Group seals compress, harden and eventually leak around the portafilter or let the handle lock past centre. That is why our CP gaskets are silicone rather than traditional rubber: silicone will not bake onto the group head over time, so the next change is faster and cleaner. The E61 sizes we make are 73 x 57 x 8.5 mm in blue and 73 x 57 x 8 mm in red; the Rancilio size is 74.5 x 58 x 8.4 mm in green; the La Marzocco size is 71.6 x 55 x 8.2 mm in blue. Match the measurement to your machine, not the colour to your kitchen.

Why the small tools are built the way they are

The group head cleaning brush exists to keep the seal itself clean, because grounds trapped in the gasket lip are the usual cause of a weeping portafilter. The grinder brush has food-safe natural bristles and a wooden handle with a hang hole, because a brush that lives on a hook gets used. The CP Stainless Steel Grinding Reference Card has Precision-cut openings between 200 and 1700 microns so you can compare your grounds against a fixed physical guide instead of guessing. The Precision Dosing Cup suits 58mm portafilters, holds a 50g dose, and has a raised rim that sits over the basket so less coffee ends up on the bench. None of this is glamorous. All of it has been tested in our own showroom before it earned its place in the range. If you are hunting for espresso machine parts beyond seals, our parts by category section is the deeper shelf.

How to choose from the Coffee Parts range

Start with the job, not the product. Most people arrive here for one of four reasons.

You have a leak or a loose portafilter

You need a group seal. Measure the old gasket's outside diameter, inside diameter and thickness, or check your machine model against the four CP sizes above. Blue silicone at 73 x 57 x 8.5 mm and red at 73 x 57 x 8 mm cover selected E61-style groups; green 74.5 x 58 x 8.4 mm is for selected Rancilio machines; blue 71.6 x 55 x 8.2 mm is for selected La Marzocco groups. Add a Group Head Gasket Removing Picker Set: the stainless picks with soft-grip handles lift a stubborn seal without gouging the group. The full seal range, including other brands, lives under group head seals.

You are setting up or tidying a home espresso bench

The Coffee Parts Professional 58.3mm Black Flat Tamper is the honest starting point for a 58mm basket: a flat base, sized to reduce the paths of least resistance that cause channelling. Pair it with a silicone tamping mat. The flat mat protects the bench and your wrist; the corner mat adds an overhang that hangs off the bench edge so the portafilter sits level. Both work with spouted and bottomless handles. Add the Precision Dosing Cup if you grind into a cup and transfer, and the grinding reference card if you switch beans often and want a fixed point to dial back to. Browse the wider tampers range if you want a calibrated or convex option.

You run a cafe and the workflow is the problem

The Commercial Floor Standing Knocking Tube ships with 25 bin liners and has a shock-absorbing rubber knock bar, so puck disposal is quieter and kinder to the portafilter. The 300mm Bench-Top Knocking Tube suits a smaller footprint; the replacement chute sleeve, clip and 25-pack waste bags keep either running. For milk, the Large Milk Jug Rinser and In-Bench Milk Jug Rinser both have a removable shower disk for cleaning and keep jugs cooler between pours, which helps texturing. The Professional Milk Jug Frothing Thermometer has milk temperature markings for consistency and safety. Chocolate shakers come in perforated, perforated-with-handle and mesh-top versions; the mesh gives a finer dusting for cappuccino. See knocking tubes for cafes and milk jug rinsers for the complete lines.

You have no plumbing

The CP Flojet Single Inlet Bottled Water Dispensing System uses a self-priming diaphragm pump to draw from a bottle or portable container and feed a pressurised supply to the machine. It is built for coffee carts, pop-ups, events and demonstrations where permanent plumbing is not an option. It is not a filter. If you arrived searching for a Breville water filter or a nespresso descaling kit, this brand page is not the right shelf: start with our water filters and coffee machine descalers ranges instead.

Quick reference

  • CP E61 gasket, blue silicone: 73 x 57 x 8.5 mm, selected E61-style groups- CP E61 gasket, red silicone: 73 x 57 x 8 mm, selected E61-style groups- CP Rancilio gasket, green silicone: 74.5 x 58 x 8.4 mm, selected Rancilio machines- CP La Marzocco gasket, blue silicone: 71.6 x 55 x 8.2 mm, selected La Marzocco groups- CP Precision Dosing Cup: 58mm portafilters, 50g capacity, stainless steel- CP Grinding Reference Card: openings between 200 and 1700 microns, stainless steel- Professional Flat Tamper: 58.3mm, black, flat base

A tamper on its own is half a workflow. The bench setup we would put together from this range: a 58.3mm flat tamper on a corner tamping mat, a Precision Dosing Cup between grinder and basket, a group head brush hanging by the machine, a grinder brush and a knocking tube within arm's reach. For cleaning chemistry, Cafetto is the range we reach for; my dad convinced its founder Chris Short to start the company, and it is still what we use on our own machines. For the wider espresso machine accessories shelf, including scales and distribution tools we do not make ourselves, start at the accessories hub.

My dad started this business in 1999 because he could not find a group seal for his 1961 Faema E61 anywhere in Australia. He called family in Italy. The seals arrived, friends heard about it, and Coffee Parts was born. So there is something fitting about a house-brand gasket carrying our name. We are not trying to out-design the brands we love and distribute. We just make the plain, well-made pieces every bench needs, at a fair standard, without the packaging premium. That is the whole brief.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the parts of a coffee machine called? +

The pieces a home barista touches most are the group head (where the portafilter locks in), the group head gasket or seal (the ring that stops water escaping around the portafilter), the shower screen, the filter basket, the portafilter handle, the steam wand and the boiler. Deeper inside sit the pump, solenoid valves, pressurestat or PID controller, thermostats and water level probe. Our parts by category section is organised by exactly these names, so you can find coffee machine parts without knowing the machine's part number.

Which CP group head gasket size should I order? +

Measure your old gasket across the outside, across the inside opening and through its thickness. The blue 73 x 57 x 8.5 mm and red 73 x 57 x 8 mm CP gaskets suit selected E61-style groups; the green 74.5 x 58 x 8.4 mm suits selected Rancilio machines; the blue 71.6 x 55 x 8.2 mm suits selected La Marzocco groups. If the old seal has compressed so far that measuring is unreliable, check your machine model against the compatibility notes on each product page, or send us a photo and we will confirm before you order.

Is it worth fixing a coffee machine or should I replace it? +

Usually yes, and more often than people expect. A leaking portafilter, a handle that locks past centre or a weeping group are seal problems, not machine problems, and a silicone gasket is a routine change. The same is true of blocked shower screens and worn baskets. Replacement makes more sense when the boiler or a major body component has failed on an entry-level machine. We have been supplying repair components since 1999 and our honest steer is to diagnose the fault first; most of the time the fix is a small part.

Can you buy spare parts for a Breville? +

Yes. Breville components and accessories are a separate range on our site, organised by machine model, so they are not on this Coffee Parts house-brand page. Head to our Breville brand page for model-specific items, and to the water filters range for filtration. If you are unsure which model you own, the model code is printed on the base plate.

How do I use the CP stainless steel grinding reference card? +

Grind a small sample, spread it thinly, and hold the card against it. The Precision-cut openings run between 200 and 1700 microns, with sections marked finer, fine, medium, coarse and coarser. Compare your particles to the opening that matches your brew method, then adjust the grinder until they sit in the right band. It is a fixed physical reference, so when you switch beans or come back to a grinder after a week, you can dial back to the same point instead of starting from memory.

Do I need a Flojet bottled water pump for a cart or pop-up? +

If your espresso machine is designed to be plumbed in and you do not have a mains connection where you are working, yes. The CP Flojet Single Inlet system draws water directly from a bottle or portable container with a self-priming diaphragm pump and delivers a pressurised supply to the machine. It is used for coffee carts, events, demonstrations and temporary installations. It does not filter water, so pair it with treated or filtered water in the container.

Why use a 58mm dosing cup rather than filling the basket directly? +

Consistency and cleanliness. Grinding into the Precision Dosing Cup lets you weigh the dose, then tip it into the basket in one motion; the raised rim sits over a 58mm basket so grounds go where they should rather than onto the bench. The 50g capacity gives room for single or double doses, and the stainless steel body wipes clean. It suits single-dose workflows and anyone whose grinder does not sit neatly over the portafilter.

How often should a knocking tube liner be changed? +

Change it whenever it is full or at the end of each service day, whichever comes first. Spent pucks hold moisture, and a liner left overnight in a warm cafe is the fastest way to a sour-smelling knock box. The Coffee Parts Commercial Floor Standing Knocking Tube uses 25-pack liners that lift out in one piece; the bench-top tube has a removable top for emptying and an optional rubber sleeve to protect the basket and dampen the knock.
