Café-calibre espresso, handmade in Florence, sized for your kitchen bench

The La Marzocco Linea Mini R in nine finishes, or paired with a matching Pico grinder

TL;DR: The La Marzocco Linea Mini is a handmade dual-boiler espresso machine for the home, built in Florence. The 2024 Linea Mini R adds a shot timer and app connectivity.

The La Marzocco Linea Mini espresso machine brings the company's commercial Linea design onto a kitchen bench. It's handmade in Florence, with dedicated boilers for brewing and steaming and PID temperature control, and the 2024 Linea Mini R adds easier pressure adjustment, a built-in shot timer and app connectivity. Below you'll find every finish we carry, the Linea Mini and Pico packages, and a straight answer on who this machine suits.

What the Linea Mini actually is

La Marzocco describes the Linea Mini as a handmade, professional-grade espresso machine for the home: a miniature take on its classic Linea design, with a stainless steel group for coffee and a separate boiler for steam and hot water. That separation is the point. Dedicated brewing and steaming boilers mean texturing milk doesn't compete with extraction, and PID temperature control holds the brew side where you set it.

Why temperature and pressure stability matter

Brew water starts losing heat the moment it meets the coffee, so the temperature a machine holds going in shapes what ends up in the cup. Pressure behaves the same way: swings during a shot encourage channelling, where water finds an easy path through the puck and leaves the rest under-extracted. A stable machine removes those variables, so when a shot tastes off you can trace it to the grind or the dose instead of the hardware.

What changed with the Linea Mini R

The 2024 refresh kept the iconic lines and added three workflow upgrades: easier pressure adjustment, a built-in shot timer and IoT connectivity with app control. If you're still weighing boiler designs, compare it against our wider range of dual boiler coffee machines, or see the full La Marzocco espresso machine range. Most of the machines and grinders we sell are bench-tested in our Pagewood workshop before dispatch.

Who the Linea Mini suits

This is a flagship La Marzocco home coffee machine, built for the home barista who has outgrown entry-level and prosumer gear and wants a machine that stops the upgrade cycle. It also suits the design-led buyer who wants the counter to look as considered as the coffee, and office spaces that want café-level espresso without a café-sized footprint. If you're pulling your first shots, a simpler machine will teach you more for less.

Linea Mini or Linea Micra?

If you searched for a La Marzocco mini, the Linea Mini is almost certainly the machine you mean. La Marzocco also makes the Linea Micra, a compact model from the same Linea family, which we sell with the Pico grinder. Both draw on the brand's commercial Linea heritage; you can compare them on the La Marzocco Linea Micra page before you commit.

Choosing a finish

The Linea Mini R is listed in White, Black, Blue, Navy Blue, Red, Yellow, Creme, Satin Silver and Brushed Steel, all currently available on backorder, with the Stainless finish out of stock for now. Brushed Steel leans into the mechanical character of the original Linea Classic. Creme sits naturally beside timber and Stone. A red La Marzocco is about as recognisable as espresso machines get. Pick the finish you'll still love looking at every morning, because the machine underneath is the same.

Machine only, or a Pico package?

Our Linea Mini and Pico packages pair the machine with La Marzocco's purpose-built Pico grinder in a matching finish, so the whole station reads as one piece. If you already own a capable espresso grinder, the machine on its own makes sense. If you don't, a package solves the grinder question in one step. Browse every La Marzocco machine and grinder package or the standalone La Marzocco grinders.

Before you order

Each listing shows its live stock status and lead time, so check the finish you want first. Then plan the bench around the machine: grinder, water filtration, scale and tamper. A linea mini espresso machine rewards good inputs, and the setup below covers what makes the difference.

La Marzocco Linea machines have been the official World Barista Championship machine across multiple competition cycles, and Anthony Douglas, who won the 2022 World Barista Championship in Melbourne, is a La Marzocco Global Ambassador. The Linea Mini is La Marzocco's miniature take on that classic Linea design, which is why it looks so familiar to anyone who has watched a competition stage or ordered at a specialty café.

The machine alone isn't the whole answer. This is the kit that turns a great machine into a great morning:

A matched grinder: the Pico in a Linea Mini and Pico package keeps the station in one finish.

A water filter: filtered water protects both boilers from scale and keeps the cup clean. Start with our coffee machine water filter kits.

A coffee scale: weighing dose and yield is the only way to make the same shot twice. See our coffee scales.

A calibrated tamper: consistent tamping pressure removes another variable. Browse calibrated tampers and match it to your basket.

Cleaning supplies: regular backflushing keeps the group performing. Stock up on espresso machine cleaning products.

I'll be straight with you: the Linea Mini isn't the machine I'd hand someone pulling their first shot. It's the one I point people to when they've owned a few machines and want to stop upgrading. What I like about the R is that La Marzocco didn't chase gimmicks. A shot timer, easier pressure adjustment and app control are things you'll actually use on a Tuesday morning. Pair it with a Pico in the same finish and a good water filter, and the bench is done.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the La Marzocco Linea Mini cost? +

It sits at the flagship end of home espresso. The live price for each finish and package is on its product tile, because prices move and we'd rather you see the current one. When comparing value, weigh the machine on its own against a Linea Mini and Pico package, which adds a matching grinder.

Can I buy one on sale in Australia? +

Coffee Parts is an authorised La Marzocco retailer, and any current promotion shows on the product pages and our coffee machine sale page. Nine Linea Mini R finishes are currently available on backorder, with the lead time shown on each listing.

Is there a green finish? +

Not in our current range. We list the Linea Mini R in White, Black, Blue, Navy Blue, Red, Yellow, Creme, Satin Silver and Brushed Steel, with the Stainless finish currently out of stock.

Should I buy a used one instead? +

A used machine that has been looked after can be a sound buy, but an older unit won't have the 2024 Linea Mini R upgrades: easier pressure adjustment, the built-in shot timer and IoT connectivity. Whichever way you go, we carry spare parts for both the original Linea Mini and the Mini R.

Is the La Marzocco Mini the same as the Micra? +

No. "La Marzocco Mini" is common shorthand for the Linea Mini, the dual-boiler machine on this page. The Linea Micra is a separate, compact model from the same Linea family, and we sell it with the Pico grinder in Linea Micra Pico packages.
